Hunting on the brolgas. Brolgas are big birds, with beautifull feathers. Aboriginal people hunt on them for the feathers, meat and the eggs.
Painted in x-hatch/x-ray style. The figures are filled with a pattern unique for each Aboriginal tribe.(x-hatch).
The intestines and bones of the figures are visible (x-ray).
Eddy Blitner was born in 1961 at Naiyalrindji, in the Ngukkurr community, 270 km S/W of Katherine, Northern Territory.
He learned to paint the 'dreaming' and other stories from his grandfathers.
He grew up to a very recognised artist, whose paintings are exhibited in the greatest galleries of Australia. |
